DESCRIPCIÓN
Also available in Spanish with the title: Salmona
There are many experts on the subject who consider Rogelio Salmona to be the most brilliant architect of the 20th century in Colombia and much of Latin America. Salmona's work, which is projected beyond its own geographical and chronological limits, represents both the physical translation of pragmatic and optical concepts as well as the deep understanding of traditional materials, construction processes and the historical and cultural circumstances in which this work registers. In this book by Ricardo Castro, a former student of Salmona, professor of architecture at McGill University in Canada and author of most of the photographs that appear here, Salmona's profession is analyzed through some of its most notable buildings. , including the plans, among them the General Archive of the Nation, the Nueva Santa Fe housing complex, the Torres del Parque residential complex, in Bogotá; the Quimbaya Museum, in Armenia, and the so-called House of Illustrious Guests, in Cartagena.
