Unlike architecture, sculpture or painting, the art of gardening produces works that grow, flourish, transform and disappear. For this reason the garden is considered the greatest work of art produced by man. And all cultures and civilizations have had it as such. This book is dedicated to the gardens of Colombia, a country with such a variety of contrasting climates that the diversity of its flora would seem to be infinite. The numerous, although not exhaustive, images in this book capture the wonderful eclecticism that occurs in the configuration of Colombian gardens, be they the large exuberant park or the tiny flowered niche in some corner of its geography. And if there is any common denominator in the social mosaic of this South American country, it is the love for plants. For this reason, each Colombian garden, as has been pointed out, is a laboratory of aesthetics and horticulture, where each little plant planted there receives the care of an expensive exotic variety.
