DESCRIPCIÓN
The case of Leopoldo Richter is exceptional in Colombian art. German by origin, Colombian by vocation, cosmopolitan by artist and scientist by training, Richter arrived in Colombia in 1935 and stayed there until his death. Inspired by his frequent trips to the jungle "in his capacity as an entomologist, professor at the National University, Richter ends up giving free rein to his artistic sensitivity, in drawings, watercolors, paintings and enamel mosaics on ceramic tiles. Without allowing himself to be pigeonholed into none of the artistic trends of his time, Richter offers his artistic tribute to the American race and the magical and unfathomable nature that surrounds him in a way that only he knew how to do. Leopoldo Richter's passage through Colombian art cannot be indifferent to No art lover. While exalting his work and paying him a long-overdue tribute, this book brings us without barriers to a very complete sample of the work of one of the most serious Colombian artists of the second half of the 20th century. .
