Treasury House. Architecture in the Colombian countryside

$750,000.00

DESCRIPCIÓN

Although the colonial era provided the rural world of New Granada with almost all of the architecture that today makes up an invaluable heritage, the modern era brought with it the need for its transformation and the problems of its conservation. Historically, the hacienda has a different socioeconomic condition than the farm and differs from it in dimensions and aesthetics. It is the Colombian hacienda house "in its relationship with the landscape and the place" that is the object of this book, which delves into the study of its origins and spaces, designs and technologies, myths and realities, conservation and memories. In doing so , its author, the specialist Germán Téllez, reviews the history of rural architecture in Colombia and covers the most significant of its constructions, many of which bring together decisive elements of the country's past and tradition. In a majestic photographic display, the book records more than 90 beautiful hacienda houses in different places in Colombia, with explanations about their architecture and the role that many have played.
