The end of this world

DESCRIPCIÓN

This is a photographic diversion or virtual graffiti by Jaime Ferrer about what the Chilean artist and photographer defines as “psychotechnological sculpture called an automobile.”

Ferrer's work has a pictorial/graphic style with which he expresses his concern for the dialogue between Technology and Nature. He uses oil, acrylic, latex, ink, enamels, among other mixed techniques on paper and fabric, but also, as is the case with this book, he uses photography, video and writing techniques. THE END OF THIS WORLD is a work of vibrant color, with its own figuration, full of graphics, silhouettes, contrasting planes, lines and shapes that reflect its affinity with American Pop and its commitment to its social environment.

Ferrer studied at the School of Fine Arts of Santiago de Chile, his teachers being Augusto Barcia, Adolfo Couve, Luis Lobos and Rodolfo Opazo. He settled in the United States in 1982 and since then has worked in places such as Canada, Chile and Italy. In 1984 he was part of the Artworks artist organization of the city of Hartford. He was an art teacher in Willimantic, Connecticut, United States, and has also been an actor and film production assistant. He currently lives in Miami, where he creates, teaches and is an art consultant for the private sector. His projects mix various media, from sculpture and painting to mixed media.
