Panoramic Colombia
As we have stated for more than 50 years of editorial production, for Villegas Editores, Colombia, an inexhaustible source of surprises and revelations, is the subject and its raison d'être. This book, which was absolutely innovative in its format at the time, photographically surveys the country with the sensitive and infinitely curious eye of Miguel Salazar Aparicio. The unusual images that comprise it, many of them in a fold-out format that reaches 1.20 cm wide, record what a human gaze would encompass in a full 360º turn. Encompassing a nation with such diverse landscapes requires zoning the whole. In this case, where the photographs show complete panoramas of natural spaces, picturesque towns or surprises—which are always present in the publisher's books—Salazar's traveling visions were grouped as follows: The Atlantic Coast and the Coffee Region, the Pacific Coast and the Southern Andes, the Cundiboyacense High Plateau, Santander and Norte de Santander, and finally, the Orinoquia and the Amazon. The texts are by the intellectual Enrique Pulecio Mariño.
