Luis Roldán - Celsia
The work of Luis Roldán (Cali, 1955), which already occupies a prominent place in the current plastic panorama, is solid and consistent: from one step to the next, without abandoning the means he uses, but crossing all his borders. His work includes drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, installations and video; There are few materials, objects or themes that escape his eye. Roldán “has been consolidating a contemplative, lyrical and non-representational work, which evokes the most vulnerable, precarious and daily condition of human existence,” says Carolina Ponce de León, in the essay that, with the insights of Luis Pérez Oramas, Curator Estrellita Brodsky of Latin American Art at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, opens this book.
