Santiago Páramo and the chapel of San José - Church of San Ignacio, Bogotá

Sale price$245,000.00

In the surroundings of the Plaza de Bolívar in Bogotá, in what was the original sacristy of the church of San Ignacio, is the chapel of San José. The conversion work of this place, the most coherent and best preserved religious artistic complex in the country, has its own name: Santiago Páramo SJ (1841-1915), who from the floor to the dome intervened in all the spaces and painted all the murals. Three large canvases, several stained glass windows, an original organ and a beautiful set of German tiles complement the work. Access to this treasure is through the central nave and the ante-sacristy of the temple that houses it. Fully illustrated, this is the fifth book in the series with which, since 2009, the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and Villegas Editores have disseminated the great Jesuit cultural heritage.
