Next year I'll be back
In the last days of December, as soon as Christmas has passed, the traditional "añoviejos" begin to appear in the villages, towns and paths of the entire territory of Colombia: imaginative and funny rag dolls "stiff or derelict", to which that popular tradition praises the year that is going to end and, incidentally, all its men. Made by hand, dressed in waste clothing and stuffed with easily flammable materials, these ingenious dolls represent characters from public life and their final destination is the pita that is lit with them at midnight on December 31, in the midst of nostalgia. and hopes.
Although each region of the country says goodbye to the year differently, all the dolls have the same meaning and in all of them they face a common destiny.
