The Book of Books I - PUJ Libraries

First of two volumes intended to disseminate the valuable bibliographic heritage of the Javeriana University of Bogotá, in the 80 years of its restoration as a teaching center. This book collects what must have been religious and theological collections from the libraries of the Colegio Mayor de San Bartolomé and the University itself, in its colonial years; samples of printed books before the 19th century; some of the 11 existing incunabula; works of the Society of Jesus; tomes on theology and spirituality of scholasticism and patristics; sacred books, including the rare Royal Bible; as well as evidence of the Inquisition's relentless scrutiny of written thought.
