Colombian Land (Inglés)

In this book, with a magnificent prologue by Juan Esteban Constaín, the photographer Santiago Harker brings off a difficult technical feat: he fully conveys the rhythm of the land of Colombia with a well-chosen collection of hitherto unpublished photos of a wide variety of the country´s landscapes. He shows us a nation which is rich in tones, textures, colors and chiaroscuros, one that only the “magic eye” of Harker is able to capture. The miracle of water is a constant feature, and we hear its sound running throughout the pages of his book, reminding us that it is Colombia´s greatest wealth, one that is imperative for us to conserve.

Through the beauty of these scenes, Colombian Land also calls on us to be conscious of the fact that ours is a country which is infinitely diverse but fragile and besieged. We must not rest on the blessings which Nature has showered on Colombia, we must conserve and defend them so that the sounds of these colorful landscapes will remain the most precious heritage we pass down to future generations.
