Aleida X - 10 years

Aleida saw the light of day ten years ago. And although, paradoxically, its author declares that he was born out of the “need—or foolishness—to invent a character that had nothing to do with current events,” few characters are as current as Aleida. Only its relevance is not based on obvious temporal or factual references, it derives from its theme, its vocabulary, its tone, its immediate harmony with the reader. Because Aleida transcended the barriers of gender and the character created by Vladdo reaches universal projection. And it is perhaps Aleida's incisive inner quarrels and her complex mental disquisitions that led Vladdo to intelligently choose the very simple drawing and the free line with which he portrays her. Drawing and stroke that, like the character, have not lost ground throughout these ten years. And the reason for this, without a doubt, lies in the author's ability to assume the female psyche and interpret it with humor and understanding, but, above all, with solidarity and deep respect.
