Colombia in Le Tour du Monde. 1858 - 1898

At a time when trips to places considered exotic captivated the European imagination, Le Tour du Monde , the successful French weekly that appeared between 1860 and 1914, published generously illustrated stories about these types of journeys and adventures. Colombia was part of its repertoire with a total of 52 fascicles about the country. The first, Voyages aux Indes by Anthony Trollope, was published in 1860; the last, Chez les Indiens du Nord by Joseph de Brettes, in 1898.
