DESCRIPCIÓN
Álvaro Barrera is one of the most brilliant Colombian architects of his generation and perhaps the first when it comes to the restoration of colonial buildings and their adaptation to modern use. His works are famous in the historic center of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia's colonial bastion on the Caribbean, where ancient buildings of colonial origin have been converted, without detriment to their historical value and beauty, into imposing public buildings, hotels, restaurants and residences, with the comforts that today's life demands. Barrera is currently working on the restoration of the old town of Panama City, with similar results. This book includes a significant number of his restorations and some of his contemporary architectural works.
