XVI Colombian Architecture Biennial. 1998

The quality of Colombian architecture is today recognized both in Latin America and in the broader international arena. The biennials that the Colombian Society of Architects has been holding since 1962 have proven to be an irreplaceable forum to evaluate the state of architectural production in Colombia. At this XVI Colombian Architecture Biennial in 1988, nearly 200 projects were presented. This book offers, illustrated in magnificent photographs and commented on in their most notable aspects "including plans", the 36 projects chosen by the juries, after a rigorous selection work, in the categories of design, urban planning, restoration and research. What stands out in this exhibition is the maturity achieved in the restoration and recovery work of the immovable heritage left by the past, as well as the diversity of paths proposed for theoretical reflection in the research work. The volume is complemented by an analytical balance of the event, by architect Silvia Arango.
