Luis Caballero. Tribute

$800,000.00

DESCRIPCIÓN

The Colombian artistic panorama of the second half of the 20th century is impressive. It is the moment when the country's art loosens its moorings and takes flight. Standing out in this environment, as was the case with Luis Caballero, is not easy. And even less so if the artist has set a course from very early on, towards which he heads without making any concessions. “My painting is personal and autobiographical,” he confesses. And that is, without a doubt, the reason for its strength and appeal. Assumed as a vital challenge and rooted almost viscerally in the Renaissance and the 19th century, Caballero's work is an example of the inseparable evolution that occurs between art and life, between man and artist. In this sense, this book illustrates in magnificent images the career of the artist and the individual. As José Hernández says in the book I had to be like this “Caballero is a man who assumes his life and his convictions in a sincere way. This explains the profound unity between his work and his life. The paintings are not by Caballero. They are Knights.”
