Julio César Turbay Ayala Tribute

Six profusely illustrated volumes make up this luxury case in tribute to Julio César Turbay Ayala (1916 - 2005) who was a councilor, deputy, representative, senator, minister, diplomat and president of the Republic. Throughout his life, Turbay was an example of self-improvement since he came from a family of middle-class Syrian-Lebanese immigrants. Volume I includes approaches to the former president from other pens and different appearances of historical figures, written by him. Volume II recounts the extensive political career that a spontaneous 22-year-old speaker arrived at the Solio de Bolívar. Volume III shows his diplomatic side: Both, as chancellor, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of his government and the serious crises that they will have to face, as well as his time as ambassador in large cities and international organizations. Volume IV is Turbay Ayala and his presidential period (1978 and 1982), both his achievements and his challenges. Once his term concluded, as former president he continued his activities both in the country and in international forums and this is reflected in Volume V. The last volume includes a revealing and in-depth interview with Carlos Lemos Simmonds and three notes about Turbay written by people from its environment.
